water resource projects - lake berryessa, california Cochiti Reservoir, Pueblo de Cochiti, New Mexico King County Brightwater Marine Outfall Siting Study, Puget Sound, Washington Lake Berryessa, Monticello Dam, California Global Remote Sensing was contracted by the Solano County Water District near Napa, CA in April 2007 for multibeam bathymetric survey of Lake Berryessa, California and connecting tributaries. The information gained from this survey will supplement evaporation and sedimentation studies for this man-made reservoir. The primary survey was conducted aboard the GRS Almar survey vessel using the Kongsberg EM3002 multibeam echo sounder (MBES) system in dual-head configuration to extend the reach of the system shallow areas. Vertical control was maintained using GRS's real-time kinematic (RTK) system and pool level readings from the California Bureau of Land Management Station located centrally on the lake. Additional surveys to include RTK position measurements and supplemental single-beam sonar information (SBES) was utilized to tie in critical gaps between the archived digital terrain models (DTM) taken during higher pool levels and the unusually low pool level of 2007. Global Remote Sensing secondary task was to integrate the upland topographic DTM, Orthographic elevation points, RTK pole measurements, and MBES/SBES bathymetric data sets into a seamless DTM. As with the Boundary Dam survey, the Lake Berryessa bathymetry and existing DTM data sets required GRS to utilize its Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities that included GRS's proprietary software applications.
