GRS completes comprehensive mapping surveys for

Lake Berryessa in northern CA

June, 2007

Global Remote Sensing has completed hydrographic mapping of Lake Berryessa in northern California for the County of Solano Department of Water Resources.  The bathymetric information provided to the client will help with modeling evaporation and related studies.  GRS utilized a suite of methods that included dual-head Simrad Multibeam System for 90% of the area, single-beam sonar for shallow and developmental work, and pole ranging using real-time kinematic methods in and along the shoreline.  The team worked for almost a month in the field and was able to build a seamless and detailed model of the seafloor to include vestiges of the old town and infrastructure prior to the damning and subsequent flooding.
